Rabbi Daniel Hoffman

Rabbi Daniel Hoffman brings to his work as a mohel a combination of rigorous training, a rabbinic presence, and genuine warmth. A graduate of Yale University, he received his semicha (rabbinic ordination) from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.

Rabbi Hoffman studied the ritual and halachic dimensions of the bris alongside circumcision technique at the Moreshet Avot institute under Rabbi Mordechai Azran in Jerusalem, and completed advanced training in circumcision at the London School of Circumcision under Ephraim Josovic — widely regarded as the premier trainer of mohalim in the world. He also had the privilege of observing Dr. Ari Greenspan and Dr. Trent Rosenbloom on numerous occasions, bringing both scholarly and medical perspectives to his work. He received certification from the Beit Din Netivot Shalom in Beit Shemesh. His background as a former EMT with Acadian Ambulance Service and Hatzalah of Riverdale further grounds his commitment to safety and calm under pressure.

Rabbi Hoffman approaches each bris as a sacred moment that belongs to the family. Sensitive to the full spectrum of Jewish observance, he believes a bris should be both rooted in the depth of Jewish tradition and tailored to the particular family gathered in the room. His goal is for every family — wherever they are on their Jewish journey — to feel honored, held, and connected to something larger than themselves.

In his day-to-day life, Rabbi Hoffman serves as a teacher at Kehilla Upper School and as the Rabbinic Administrator of the Nashville Kashrut Commission. He lives in Nashville with his wife and their three children. He will tell you, with no small amount of pride, that he had the honor of performing the brit milah for his own sons.
